Visa advice

The UK has become much stricter when issuing visas for foreign students (non-EU). The UK government introduced the Tier 4 sponsor register in Spring 2009, along with a points based system to ensure that only legitimate students are granted access to the UK. There are two main types of student visa available.

Student Visitor Visa

• Available for courses shorter than 24 weeks
• There is no right to work in the UK
• The application process is easier than a Standard Student Visa

Student Visa

• Available for courses of various lengths up to and beyond 52 weeks
• Right to work up to 10 hours per week
• School or College must be a member of Tier 4 Sponsor's register
